Institutes and CPD Accreditation
The Focus of Our Efforts

Institutional Accreditation
To maintain high standards of education, we believe that optometry taught at institutes in Bangladesh must follow the recommended curriculum of the WCO. This will bring optometry education in line with the quality education provided around the world.

The Education Standards Committee (ESC) will oversee this function and will support institutes that wish to follow the WCO curriculum. ESC will periodically carry out assessments of institutes to ensure high standards are maintained and will advise on areas that require further improvements. BOC ESC may on occasions employ external examiners for this process, this is to ensure quality and unbiased grading.
Whether you are a provider of a certificate, diploma or graduate course, to receive this benefit your institutes must be subscribed members of the BOC. A certificate of accreditation will be provided to all member institutes once a full assessment of your curriculum and facilities has been carried out.

A list of all approved education providers will be listed on our website.
CPD and Skills Training
Providers Accreditation
If you are a Continued Professional Development (CPD) education or skills provider you are required to complete the accreditation process first before you can deliver your course. This is to ensure your courses meet the guidelines set by the BOC and that your course fulfils the competency criteria set for a particular learning outcome. You must be a member of the BOC as an education provider. A guide and support are available for all members.
